Promoting tourism through competitions: A channel to spread the beautiful image of Binh Duong’s land and people
Tourism communication and promotion activities are always a priority for provincial Tourism Promotion Center. With many different ways, especially through competitions organized in recent times, the center has created a certain effect in promoting the image of tourism, contributing to attracting more tourists to Binh Duong.
Effectiveness from competitions
Recently, tourism promotion activities in the province have introduced new aspects and diversified formats. Among them, expanding and diversifying promotional activities through competitions has contributed to drawing more tourists to Binh Duong.

Pham Hong Thi, Deputy Director of provincial Tourism Promotion Center shared that in recent years, the center has organized and advised provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) on holding several competitions aimed at promoting the local tourism sector. These efforts have yielded positive results in attracting visitors to the province. Specifically, in 2020 and 2022, the center organized a competition on "Presentation and Introduction of Binh Duong Tourism Destinations" to foster interest and knowledge about historical and cultural sites, scenic spots, tourist areas and recreational locations across the province, thereby promoting Binh Duong’s tourism image within the community. Each contest attracted dozens of participants, showcasing diverse and rich presentations that highlighted the province's remarkable tourist destinations to both tourists and friends.
To further promote the image of Binh Duong’s land and people, in 2021, the center advised provincial DoCST on organizing the "Beautiful Binh Duong Tourism Photo Contest". With over 630 entries from 72 photographers in and out of the province, the contest helped introduce the beautiful landscapes, cultural and historical sites, tourism destinations and the vibrant image of Binh Duong’s land and people to residents and tourists.
In 2023, the center continued advising provincial DoCST in organizing the “Binh Duong Tourism Gift Design Contest” with the theme of “Binh Duong Impressions”. This contest aimed at selecting unique, attractive souvenir and tourism gift designs that reflect the distinctive characteristics of Binh Duong’s land and people to produce items that would serve the needs of tourists. Through this contest, Binh Duong’s tourism sector gained several new souvenir products and tourism gifts in order to introduce them to visitors, thereby further promoting the image of Binh Duong tourism.
Promoting tourism through video clips
Building on the success of competitions and diversifying promotional formats, in 2024, provincial Tourism Promotion Center has organized the “Binh Duong Tourism Video Clip Creation Contest”. This useful playground aimed at attracting interest in Binh Duong’s destinations and tourism products, providing an opportunity for participants to meet, exchange knowledge on video creation and develop skills in promoting Binh Duong’s tourism sites. It also serves as a platform to introduce tourism products to numerous people, friends and tourists.

After nearly six months of being launched with effective coordination in propaganda by various agencies and organizations, the competition has absorbed significant interest from numerous authors and travel enthusiasts in and out of the province. The organization board received 53 entries from 45 individual and collective participants, including secondary-school students, university students from Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh city as well as teachers, university lecturers and civil servants from different institutions.
The contest also attracted participation from travel units in and out of the province, journalists and members of the Literature and Arts Associations. Notably, some tourists who had visited Binh Duong and learned about the contest also submitted entries. According to evaluations, this year’s contest organized by provincial Tourism Promotion Center received numerous entries with diverse content, showcasing many attractive destinations across all districts and cities in Binh Duong. This has helped promote the attraction of destinations in Binh Duong province to viewers.
The entries showcased many aspects of Binh Duong tourism, including culture, cuisine, natural landscapes, historical sites and people of Binh Duong. The participants in the contest were also quite diverse, from students, officials, reporters to tourists, bringing it video clips shown from many different perspectives. That has shown the spirit and desire of building and developing the province's tourism industry in the present and the future, contributing to preserving and promoting the province's historical values and cultural heritages.
