Stable supply

According to Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Binh Duong has prepared goods worth VND 2.75 trillion for the period before, during and after the 2025 Tet festival, an increase of 17.9% compared to the same period last year. For businesses participating in the price stabilization program, provincial Department of Industry and Trade emphasized that goods participating in the program must ensure quantity, quality and safety to meet people’s demand for shopping on Tet while encouraging businesses to stabilize the market in industrial parks and rural areas.

"Supermarkets and convenience stores such as Saigon Co.op, MM Mega Market, Aeon, Lotte, Vinmart, Bach hoa xanh, Central Retail… have also proactively prepared essential goods with stocks increasing from 10%-25% compared to the same period last year to meet consumers’ demand during the year-end and the 2025 Tet festival. Price-stabilized items must be available in sufficient quantity and variety, including discounted items to serve the public and ensure food safety", Mrs. Ha said.

Duong Bao Khuong, Deputy Director of Co.opmart Binh Duong committed that the supermarket would seriously implement goods reserves and price stabilization, linking this with "Vietnamese goods" markets in rural areas, with prices that are always lower by 5%-10% compared to the market price at any given time. The goods reserved for market stabilization are guaranteed to be of high quality, provided by domestic manufacturers and have valid expiration dates.

For petroleum products, Thanh Le Import-Export Trading Corporation and Song Be Petroleum Co. Ltd. have committed to ensuring the supply of petroleum products to all company agents before, during and after the 2025 Tet festival, with an increase of 10%-15% compared to normal days. Dang Van Doan, Deputy Director of Thanh Le Import-Export Trading Corporation said the company's gas stations operate 24/7. All of the company's warehouses have prepared duty schedules throughout Tet. The corporation is committed to ensuring enough petroleum supply before, during and after Tet; maintaining sales at the gas station system to serve the public without causing the shortage or scarcity of petroleum.

Strict market management

Mrs. Ha said that provincial Department of Industry and Trade is coordinating with provincial Market Management Department, provincial Police Agency and other authorities to increase control over the market, especially before, during and after Tet. The focus will be on essential items with high consumption during Tet. They will check food safety at markets, supermarkets, frozen food businesses, food production and trading facilities; check the measurement of goods and the declaration of goods quality of wholesale and retail establishments to promptly detect price fraud or abuse of measurement and packaging to increase prices.

In addition, units are intensifying efforts to prevent smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, especially those sold through multi-level marketing and online transactions to ensure food safety, protect consumers’ interests and rights and safeguard legitimate businesses.

According to Nguyen Phuong Dong, Head of provincial Market Management Department, it is predicted that during the period close to the 2025 Tet festival, the situation of transporting and trading banned goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, poor-quality goods, goods that do not ensure food hygiene and safety... will become more complicated, with more sophisticated, harder-to-detect forms. Provincial Market Management Department is enhancing control over the market and strictly handling violations.

Mr. Dong added that the province’s market management teams are also strengthening coordination with functional agencies to inspect and control in order to promptly detect and handle violations, focusing on inspecting and controlling goods and fields on gasoline, cosmetics, foreign cigarettes, e-commerce, sugar, rice, firecrackers, goods of foreign origin, etc.; ensuring the balance of supply and demand of goods, market stability and social welfare. They continue grasping the situation and closely monitor retail gasoline stores, promptly detect and strictly handle violations under the law.

Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade stated that the department is actively controlling prices to minimize price increases while also implementing market management solutions and ensuring sufficient reserves of essential goods to serve people during the 2025 Tet festival.
